Students Create a PowerPoint About Grains and the Food Pyramid
Students research the internet for information about the food pyramid and the grains they eat, the health benefits of grains, and the daily serving recommendations of grains. Students find several images of grains and the food pyramid. Students use their images and research information to create an interesting and informative PowerPoint presentation.
This activity integrates technology into the Life Sciences curriculum.
Grades 3 -5
Slide 1 – Food Pyramid - Grains
Students add a title “Food Pyramid – Grains”. Students add an image of the food pyramid or food made from grains. Students add their name.

Slide 2 – Grains I Eat
Add a title “Grains I Eat”. Add 4 or more images of grains you like to eat. Add a list of the 4 or more grains you like to eat.

Slide 3 – Health Benefits
Add a title “Health Benefits”. List 4 or more health benefits of eating grains. Add 2 or more related images.
Slide 4 – Grains – Daily Servings
Add a title “Grains – Daily Servings”. Add information about the recommended daily serving suggestions for grains. Add one or more related images.
