Students Create a PowerPoint About Igneous Rocks
Students research the internet for information about igneous rocks, how they are formed, types of igneous rocks and their uses, and interesting facts about igneous rocks. Student collect several images related to igneous rocks. Students use their images and information to create an interesting and informative PowerPoint presentation.
This research and presentation activity integrates technology into the Earth Sciences curriculum.
Grade 4 and up
Slide 1 - Title Slide - Igneous Rocks
Students add a title "Igneous Rocks". Students add one or more examples of igneous rocks. Students add their name.

Slide 2 - How Igneous Rocks are Formed
Students add a title "How Igneous Rocks are Formed". Students add one or more images showing how igneous rocks are formed. Students add brief information (2 or 3 sentences) about how igneous rocks are formed.

Slide 3 - Types of Igneous Rocks and Their Uses
Students add a title "Types of Igneous Rocks and Their Uses". Students add 2 or more images of showing examples of uses of igneous rocks. Students add information describing several uses of igneous rocks.

Slide 4 - Interesting Facts
Students add a title "Interesting Facts". Students add one or more images of interesting igneous rocks. Students add 3 or more interesting facts about igneous rocks.
