Grade 3 and up
Step One - Research - Students use the research handout to find and write the information about the animals using the internet.
Step Two - Collect images -Students will copy and paste pictures from the internet to create their slides. You may find freely usable images at WikiMedia Commons.
Step Three- Create Presentation - Students create their presentation in powerpoint using the information they wrote on their research handouts.
Notes: For the research part it can be helpful to assign the animals for the kids and to have bookmarks of websites for each animal that are age appropriate. For the image collection part, it is helpful to discuss the difference between thumbnail and full size images. Thumbnail images can be very blurry when stretched to fit. The final PowerPoint title slides can be saved as images and used as screensavers for a nice automatic slideshow for Open House.
