Opinion Writing - The Best Subject

Assignment: This writing prompt gives students practice writing an opinion about their favorite subject in school. Students state their opinion about the best subject in school and supply three reasons supporting their opinion. Students provide a concluding statement.

Write opinion pieces in which they introduce the topic they are writing about, state an opinion, supply reasons that support the opinion, use linking words (e.g., because, and, also) to connect opinion and reasons, and provide a concluding statement or section. • When you are teaching this, demonstrate how to increase the font size, search for clipart, size and position clipart and delete clipart as necessary.
