Fourth Grade Technology Lessons

These technology lessons will teach students how to work with various types of images, graphics, and video.
There are also technology projects and assignments designed to compliment and integrate into the 4th grade curriculum. In my computer lab there is an additional requirement that each completed technology lesson be uploaded and presented visually on each student's personal lab website. All software used is either freeware or opensource.
Working With Image Software:
Most of these lessons can be done in (1-2) 45 minute sessions.
Lesson One: Basic Photo Editing
Students will use an image editor to crop, lighten, darken, sharpen, resize and remove red eye from several photos.
Lesson Two: Labeling Images
Students will label and draw connections on a simple electrical circuit diagram.
Lesson Three: Speech Bubbles
Students learn to add speech bubbles to images by creating their own knock knock joke comic.
Lesson Four: Green Screen
Use the green screen / chroma key technique to put yourself in a completely different picture.
Lesson Five: Magic Wand
Use the magic wand to remove backgrounds without a green screen.
Lesson Six: Switch Heads
Switch your head onto another body.
Lesson Seven: Website Header
Make a custom website header for your website / blog.
Lesson Eight: Use Screen Capture to Make a Tutorial
Create a 3 step tutorial on how to use Microsoft clipart using screen captures.
Lesson Nine: Andy Warhol Pop Art
Create a Pop Art image of yourself in style of Andy Warhol
