Common Core Narrative Writing - Lesson 8 - Itsy Bitsy Spider
This writing lesson plan integrates technology into the Common Core Writing Standard for narrative writing. Students use their own name to write the story of the itsy bitsy spider. Students practice writing sentences using proper capitalization, word spacing, and punctuation. Students search, insert and size appropriate clipart to illustrate the sentences. Students increase the font size. Students use their own name in sentences based on the story of the itsy bitsy spider. Students save and / or print their work.
Model the lesson and explain each step to students. Students who have completed most if not all of the previous writing lessons in this series should be demonstrating greater typing proficiency and word processing skills while needing less frequent assistance. This lesson is expected to require 20 - 30 minutes of student work time to complete for most proficient students who remain focused and on task. Your mileage may vary.
